Session Title: BIM4Housing – What needs to be considered when creating a digital record?

Session Description:

What information should be included in the Digital Record for the Golden Thread?

BIM4Housing is hosting five Round Table workshops at DCW 2022 on Thursday 19th May from 11:30 to 12:15 to try and answer this question.
Given that most fire-related deaths result from smoke inhalation rather than burns, we will discuss which asset types form a smoke control system and what we must do to ensure each asset is installed, commissioned and maintained properly.
We will take one specific asset type, a fire door, and what we need to know to ensure it performs and how it relates to the other asset types that prevent the spread of smoke.

Different stakeholder groups need different information about that fire door to ensure it will perform when called on.
So, the BIM4Housing Working Groups:

  1. Owner/Developer
  2. Design
  3. Construction
  4. Manufacturing
  5. Operations

will lead a Round Table of ten cross-disciplinary delegates to agree:

  • what information is important?
  • how they receive it?
  • what do they do with it?
  • who do they share it with?
  • the format they will use?
  • how that information can be used within different software applications?

This will be an in-person event at London Excel so the number of places at each Round Table are limited but if you can let us know which Working Group you would like to join and a brief explanation of how you feel you can contribute, we will try and accommodate you.
